Long before British actor Russell Brand faced accusations of sexual assault and abuse from four different women, he was hitting the late-night talk show circuit, where he once made American Idol alum Katharine McPhee visibly uncomfortable with several forward advances.

As news of Brand’s alleged indiscretions began making the rounds online, a clip depicting the pair’s brief run-in on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon back in 2013 resurfaced, showing the Get Him to the Greek star yanking the musician onto his lap.

“She's welcome to sit here,” the famously blue comic said, pulling McPhee on top of him.

“No Russell, don't even say for the queen, you can't,” Fallon replied.

As their interview continued, Brand refused to back down, at one point, professing just how much he wanted to sleep with the star.

“As you know, I've announced it, I find Katharine very attractive and I think when she said 'exchange numbers,' I thought things I'd like to exchange with her,” he said before specifying what, exactly, he'd like to swap with the artist.

“Numbers. Genes. Genetic info. Data,” he yelled towards the audience, McPhee appearing tense as she evaded eye contact.

“What is happening right now?” she asked the audience.

Ultimately, Brand’s one-sided advances were finally thwarted after the singer admitted she had a husband.

"Yeah, but look how you dropped the Jets, you could drop that guy any day," he said, referencing a story the reality TV icon was telling about using a New York Jets ticket to secretly root for the San Francisco 49ers.

Though Fallon ultimately stepped in — “Russell, no, Russell, no,” the comedian admonished the star, the audience laughing — Brand decided to head out upon learning the actress was a married woman.

"I didn't know you were married, I'm going to f*** off," he said before walking offstage.

But McPhee and Fallon weren't the only ones to pick up on the comedian’s creepy behavior. Alongside this concerning clip, an archived interview from Brand’s ex-wife, pop star Katy Perry, resurfaced, in which the “Teenage Dream” singer said she knew the “real truth” surrounding the star.

“At first when I met him he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they’re like, I can’t handle the equalness,” she told Vogue back in 2013, adding that Brand “didn’t like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour,” a notion she found “really hurtful” and “controlling.”

“I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day,” she cryptically continued. “I let go and I was like: This isn’t because of me; this is beyond me. So I have moved on from that.”

Though Perry has remained tight-lipped on both the specific “truth” in question and the new allegations against her former flame, several fans have urged her to speak out in hopes of helping those hurt by the star.

“Time to open that safe Katy, support the victims ” one fan commented on her most recent Instagram post.

“RELEASE THE TEA YOU HAVE ON RUSSELL! Stand with the women ❤️” added another.

Though Brand continues to deny the allegations against him, describing the above interactions as “absolutely always consensual” in a recent YouTube clip, one thing is certain: A really awkward TV appearance is worth well over 1,000 words.
